Privacy Policy

DOKU-RIN ("the App") is a personal journaling service for venting negative feelings. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and whether we share it.

1. Information collected

1-1. User-provided

• Post text (body, nickname, share-to-feed flag)
• Post metadata (timestamp, detected emotion, points)
• Optional cross-life note text the user leaves

1-2. Automatically collected

• Device identifier (anonymous user_id generated locally; linked via Clerk if you sign in)
• Request IP + User-Agent (server access log, retained briefly)
• Activity metadata (post count, streaks, stage progression) needed for the app to work

2. Purpose of use

• Operating the App (saving posts, computing stages, rendering Dokurin)
• Service quality (access logs for debugging)
• Abuse prevention (NG word detection, rate limiting)

3. Third parties

• We do not sell or share personally-identifying information with third parties
• We use Clerk Inc. for authentication; email addresses handled by Clerk follow Clerk's privacy policy
• Hosting (Vercel), database (Neon), cache (Upstash) act as contracted data processors
• For backer-plan subscribers, payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. We do not retain card numbers ourselves; we only retain the customer identifier (cus_…) that Stripe issues
• We may disclose information when required by law

4. Data location

• Database: Singapore (Neon Postgres)
• App server: Tokyo (Fly.io NRT)
• Cache: Singapore (Upstash Redis)

5. Retention

• Post text: until the user deletes it, or requests account deletion
• Access logs: 30 days
• Enlightenment-event accounting records (including ¥-converted amounts): 5 years for accounting

6. Your rights

• You may request deletion of individual posts, full account deletion, or data export

7. Cookies / localStorage

• We use localStorage for the local user id, settings, and the local history cache
• We do not use third-party tracking cookies

8. Children

• Not recommended for users under 12. Use under parental supervision

9. Changes

• Material changes will be announced via a "last updated" line at the bottom of this page
